Clinical case

Referred for infected perianal fistulas.
The clinical examination revealed the presence of fistulous tracts with purulent discharge in the perineal region.
Previously treated with antibiotic therapy (amoxicillin and clavulanic acid) with no signs of improvement.

Therapeutic protocol

In agreement with the owner, the surgeon initially ruled out both a surgical approach and an immunosuppressive therapy (cyclosporine) to limit management costs and possible side effects.
