Clinical case
Animal suffering from atopic dermatitis, keratoconjunctivitis sicca and cognitive dysfunction.
The subject is referred to the rehabilitation centre following an acute episode of pain in the neck.
Currently on NSAID, Tramadol, gabapentin, cyproheptadine therapy.
 

Clinical examination

  • Marked pain on palpation and passive neck movements
  • Ventral neck muscle stiffness
  • No obvious neurological deficits

Physical medicine and rehabilitation protocol 

  •   Laser puncture was associated with other analgesic therapies (Fentanyl patch, laser therapy and muscle relaxants)
  •   During the first two weeks, laser puncture was associated with laser therapy every day
