MLS® & Laser Acupuncture: Interview with Ariya Sukhathummo, DVM

I'm Doctor Minnie from Thailand. So, my name is Doctor Ariya Sukhathummo. I graduated from Kasetsart University in Veterinary Medicine, and I also attended CHI University to become an acupuncturist. I’ve got my CVA, and I also studied for a master’s degree in Marketing Management. Normally, I work as a freelance acupuncturist in many clinics, such as Small Animals and Exotics Clinics.

What is the benefit of laser puncture?
I would say it’s really great because you deliver the energy instead of using needles. For some animals that are very stressed or uncomfortable with needles, you can treat them with laser acupuncture. Or you can mix both — use the traditional needles, and for the points where the animal is uncomfortable but you still want to treat, you can switch to laser puncture. It works very fast, and for me, it’s wonderful for exotics that don’t like to be stressed or restrained during treatment.

Which kind of M-VET approach do you suggest?
I would say if you are very professional and have been working with TCVM before, you can try the frequency approach. It provides you with Nogier, Bahr, and Reiniger frequencies, depending on which meridian you prefer to use. But if you are very new, you can start with the pathology approach. It gives you common pathologies with the recommended points, and you can just follow them. It’s very easy and a little bit faster, so you can try that with M-VET.
