MLS® Laser Therapy at the CCRP Milan stage: how to transform training into clinical results

Thursday, July 31, 2025

ASAveterinary took part as official technical partner in the laser therapy session of the prestigious CCRP Course (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner), held in Milan from 16th to 19th July 2025, at UNISVET and the European Veterinary Clinic. The CCRP, sponsored by the University of Tennessee and VAHL (Veterinary Academy of Higher Learning), is the only “RACE” (Registry of Approved Continuing Education of the American Association of Veterinary State Boards) approved university program dedicated to canine rehabilitation, internationally recognised for its academic rigour and evidence-based approach.

The value of the CCRP

The CCRP course represents a global benchmark for veterinary professionals and physical therapists, combining advanced theory, real-world clinical cases, hands-on animal workshops and supervised studies. The program includes online lectures, intensive lab days and a case report and final exam, culminating in being awarded the Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner certification. For this reason, it is considered one of the most qualifying training programs in the veterinary physiotherapy sector.

The M-VET therapeutic laser for training

Thanks to its role as technical partner, ASAveterinary conducted a module entirely dedicated to MLS® Laser Therapy, guiding participants through the physical principles of the laser, the therapeutic wavelengths and its applications in physiotherapy, dermatology, oral pathologies, post- surgical pain management and even laser puncture.
DVM Ilaria Terruzzi, who attended the practical session, explains that

“the practical portion featured a golden retriever with paravertebral trigger points. The effects of the therapy were observed in real time, sparking interest and active participation from those present”.

She emphasises the importance of the participants' personal trial of the treatment:

“Many noted the absence of unpleasant sensations or discomfort, an aspect that allowed them to fully understand the safety and gentleness of the treatment from the veterinary patient's perspective. Nothing is more convincing than being able to experience it firsthand.”

Several participants requested further information, interested in integrating MLS® technology into their clinics.

“I am extremely proud and satisfied to have been able to share my skills and to have contributed to training attentive, curious professionals, eager to always offer the best to their patients," concludes Terruzzi.
